Bare Tallow Whip

The Bare - Tallow Whip is a blend of Grass-fed Beef Tallow and Organic Unrefined Jojoba Oil, nothing else is added. It works as a barrier cream to deeply moisturise dry skin conditions that have symptoms of dry and flaky skin.

As we have been upscaling production and riding the ebbs and flows of business we have had a change in our suet suppliers. Our original organic supplier is no longer able to supply us so we have supplemented this with a fully organic supplier and a non organic supplier. We have also changed our jojoba oil to from organic to now organic and unrefined. We have adjusted our labels but are using up the labels we have already printed to not create waste.

Smell

A soft buttery/cacao butter scent - we don't use any harsh chemicals to render our tallow so there will always be the slightest smell if you have a very sensitive nose. If that is the case and you still want to try the healing benefits of tallow then try our Mānuka and Kānuka blend.

How to use

Massage a small amount to face, neck and décolletage, ideally when skin is slightly damp.

For external use only. Do not use on broken skin. Avoid contact with eyes. If Irritation occurs, discontinue use.

Where is our Tallow from?

Our Beef Suet comes from multiple sources in the North Island. We have had to open up to multiple supplies but we make sure they are always grass fed and finished and always looking to align with organic farming practices. 

What is beef Tallow/suet?

Beef Suet is the fat from the hard fatty part of the cow which surrounds the kidneys, very different from the fat off a steak! The fat is very yellow and even after rendering it remains a bright yellow colour. 

How do you render the Tallow?

We wet render the suet with salt  and spring water from Petone spring to pull out the impurities. This process takes a total of 4 days and 4 wet renders. This turns the beef suet into high quality cosmetic grade Tallow which is free from any smells and sediment. After the renders the tallow is still a bright yellow colour high in many vitamins and minerals but without any beefy smell. 

How do you make it into a skin cream?

Once our tallow is rendered and purified we then add golden Organic and Unrefined Jojoba oil and whip it so it is a beautiful soft texture that is easily absorbed into the skin.
